Custom Molded Orthotics, are also known as orthoses, arch supports or custom foot inserts, are devices inserted into a shoe, to  correct an abnormal or irregular, walking pattern. These devises are custom made to fit an individual's unique foot structure and allow people to stand, walk, and run more comfortably and efficiently. Orthotic devices come in many shapes, sizes, and materials.  They can be sport specific, (running cycling, soccer) and can be work or shoe type specific.  Orthotics, orthoses,  are designed to change foot function, to combine functional control and protection.  They help stabilize the foot and leg and can relieve many chronic symptoms in the entire lower extremity.

We utilize digital scanning, foam and plaster casts for our foot and leg impressions.  These are then sent to our Orthitotic Laboratories to create Custom Molded Foot or Ankle/Foot Orthoses.  Since these devises are custom we can create rigid orthotics, semi-rigid orthotics, or softer accommodative orthotics.

Rigid Orthotics
Rigid orthotic devices are designed to control function and are used primarily for walking or dress shoes. They are often composed of a firm material, such as plastic or carbon fiber. Rigid orthotics control motion in the two major foot joints that lie directly below the ankle joint and may improve or eliminate strains, aches, and pains in the legs, thighs, and lower back.

Semi-Rigid Orthotics
Semi-rigid orthotics provide foot balance for walking or participating in sports. The typical semi-rigid orthotic is made up of layers of soft material, reinforced with more rigid materials. Semi-rigid orthotics are often prescribed for children to treat flatfoot and in-toeing or out-toeing disorders. These orthotics are also used to help athletes mitigate pain while they train and compete.

Soft Orthotics
Soft orthotics are generally used to absorb shock, increase balance, and take pressure off uncomfortable or sore spots. They are usually effective for diabetic, arthritic, and deformed feet. Soft orthotics are typically made up of soft, cushioned materials so that they can be worn against the sole of the foot, extending from the heel past the ball of the foot, including the toes.

Application/Therapy: Wide ranges of applications and tailored flexibility ranges from rigid to very flexible. Polytech devices feature very low bulk heel-posts, less than 1 mm thick, and advanced styling. Accomodations maybe directly milled into the device with great results.

Poltech Dress

Application/Therapy: Control and stabilization of the foot while wearing low bulk dress type or high-heeled shoes. Helping to maintain arch and mid-foot control reducing stress and fatigue.

Materials: Digitally milled Polypro with .50 mm thin heel contact area, sulcus top covering with 2 mm accommodating foam extension.

Poltech Sporty

Application/Therapy: Use when typical polypro devices with crepe heel-posts are desired. Devices can be produced as flexible or as rigid as required. With all milled devices, many accomodations can be milled directly into the orthosis.

Materials: Digitally milled polypro device with crepe heelposts.




 Application/Therapy: Biomechanically controlling Orthotic for patients of all weight ranges. Useful for the correction and management of biomechanical problems such as forefoot and rearfoot varus and valgus deficiencies as well as heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, hallux deformities and midtarsal joint function limitation.

Materials: Composite foot plates available in semi- flexible, semi –rigid, rigid, and very rigid flexibilities. Extrinsic posting is accomplished with super crepe.

Carbotech Dress

Application / Therapy: Better control and stabilization of the foot when wearing dress – type or high heeled shoes. The semi rigid devices are formed and ground to fit into dress shoes only, allowing the foot to be held in proper position in the shoe, reducing pressure and fatigue.

Materials: Composite foot plate material, with a standard sulcus length Naugahyde top cover.

Thin-Tech Sport

Application/ Therapy: Sport minded device for use where moderate biomechanical control is necessary. Low bulk design allows use in a wide range of shoe gear.Materials: Milled polypro shell with full length Snazzy Pad top cover and 1/8” bottom cover.

Application/ Therapy: Soft accommodative device designed with the diabetic patient in mind. This Orthotic offers protection for patients with poor circulation and the possibility of lesions in an Orthotic that is designed to fit into standard shoe gear.

Materials: Milled polypro shell and p-foam 3/16” top cover and 1/16”bottom cover.

Thin-Tech Light

Application/ Therapy: Allows for a wide range of applications where moderate biomechanical support is appropriate low bulk design allows patient to use the device in a wide range of shoes.

Materials: Milled polypro shell with full- length Naugahyde top cover and a 1/16” bottom cover.

Hangtime Application/ Therapy: Semi-rigid control and high shock dissipation. Works well for court type activities, allowing for control and management of side to side motion, minimizing stress on the lower extremities and reducing over-use injuries.Materials: Computer milled polypro shell with EVA midsole and 3/16 R-Lite cover to the end of the toes.


Application/Therapy: Passive biomechanical support with strong mid-foot stabilization and control. This device works very well for patients with recurring over use injuries in the lower extremities.Materials: Thin polypro foam midsole with full R-Lite padding to toes and accommodating foam bottom cover.

Bender 2000

Application/Therapy: Highly flexible devices with 15mm rigid heel-cup for greater hind foot control. This device works well for arthritics, diabetics, and the aging population.Materials: 2.0 mm polypro shell with poron midsole, R-Lite padding to end of toes and accommodative bottom cover.




Application/Therapy: Semi- rigid biomechanically controlling device for all weight ranges. Stabilizes problems such as heel pain, plantar pain, and other minimal to moderate problems related to overuse and stress. This product was designed with the geriatric in mind.Materials: Semi-rigid polypro shell with EVA midsole and neoprene padding to toes with accommodative foam bottom cover.

Tech Light


Application/ Therapy: Passive biomechanical control and support with strong mid-foot and hind-foot control. The Tech-Light works well when weight is a consideration, fraction of the weight with all the control. Designed for the active patient.


Application/Therapy: Fully accommodative appliance. When maintenance of the diabetic or arthritic foot is required, deep pocketing can be achieved for maximum relief in needed areas.

Materials: Thermo-moldable cork product with celastic for stiffening and longer life.
